The local chapter of Lutherans Concerned initially grew out of the energies and efforts of members of First English Lutheran Church. Reflecting the policies of LC/NA at that time, it was chiefly a group providing sanctuary and support for LGBT and their allies in the community. As the nature of LC/NA shifted to include more activism, the group reformed several years ago with members from six area congregations and has grown to include members from twelve Central Texas congregations. Our stated desire is to move from being reactive and responsive into becoming more proactive, forming strategies, providing resources, and working together to support our various goals.
